In March 2007 Lindsay Hawker, a 22 year old British foreign English teacher located in Chiba (suburb of Tokyo Japan), was found dead in her apartment bathtub.  Her killer believed to be ‘Tatsuya Ichihashi’ has been hunted ever since.  The cross dressing killer has been on Japan’s most wanted list, posters have been sent to though out the country, and the police have conducted numerous investigations.  Her family never giving up, returning to Japan numerous times to find any significant clues to her killers whereabouts.  However, police are beginning to suspect Ichihashi has killed himself:

“But senior detectives believe that he would have been caught by now if he was alive, and that he must have killed himself in a remote spot where he may never be found.” - Times Online

The suicide at this point is just speculation with no evidence; however there have been no other leads to the killer’s whereabouts.  Neither the police nor Lindsay’s parents are giving up the search to find the killer despite the suicide speculation.
