India Student Suicide: Imposter English Teacher Sought by Police

iKobo - Convenient Money TransferSeptember 28, 2008, a Cooch Behar (East India, South of Bangladesh) 15 year old child took her life last Friday (September 26) by overdosing on sleeping medication.  The motivation for the suicide points to the school principal, who allegedly ‘tortured’ the young girl.  Evidently, the student took her life the following day, unable to bear the humiliation.  Apparently, the school principal ‘tortured’ the girl due to her association with a man named ‘Sarbajit Barman’ who claimed to be an English teacher at Balurghat school (well acclaimed high school located in Balurghat city South of Cooch Behar).   Balurghat High School has been contacted, however no teacher runs by the name Sarbajit Barman.  The police are now looking for the deceiving man.
The dead girl’s parents told police she took sleeping pills after being “tortured” by her school principal for her association with the man.

“Besides using filthy lan-guage, she hit my daughter. Rumki (name changed) killed herself unable to bear the humiliation,” her mother Bharati Pal said. - Telegraph India
Though full details are not released from the child’s suicide or the relationship between the deceased and falsified teacher, Western teachers question why the police are searching for Sarbajit Barman as apposed to putting more pressure on the school principal for the “torture” claims which lead to the girl’s humiliation and suicide.
